THE SUN AND THE MOON. FIRST GRADE

During this month, pupils talked about what we see in the sky and learned some essencial characteristics of the Sun and the Moon. They understood that the Earth moves around the Sun and that the Moon moves around the Earth. They understood too why we have day and night.

HAPPY EUROPE DAY

Why a Europe Day ?

Europe Day, held on 9 May every year, celebrates peace and unity in Europe. The date marks the anniversary of the historical 'Schuman declaration'. At a speech in Paris in 1950, Robert Schuman, the then French foreign minister, set out his idea for a new form of political cooperation in Europe, which would make war between Europe's nations unthinkable.
His vision was to create a European institution that would pool and manage coal and steel production. A treaty creating such a body was signed just under a year later. Schuman's proposal is considered to be the beginning of what is now the European Union.

EUROPE'S DAY COMING SOON¡¡ 9TH MAY

In a few days we will be celebrating Europe's Day.
Célula Europa has invited our school to develope a wonderful task involving our grandparents.
2017 is the year of the Education for adults so we are invited to ask our beloved grandparents how Europe was when they were as young as their grandsons and grandaughters nowadays.
Our students, from the youngest ones te Secondary students will interview them and they will have to answer to different questions such as:
  • What do you know about European Union?
  • What kind of jobs existed in that time?
  • Means of transport you used.
  • How did Europe change; borders, population, currency...?
  • Was the currency change difficult for you?
Some works we are preparing:

Thanks to our grandparents, the real protagonist of this event.
More, next 9th May!!!!
